PNC Collecting Athletic Shoes Through Reuse-A-Shoe Drive
WESTVILLE – The Purdue University North Central Employee Wellness program is coordinating the collection of worn out athletic shoes to be recycled through the Nike-Reuse-A-Shoe program.
The Reuse-A-Shoe program gives old, warn athletic shoes a second life by recycling shoes so that they can be used to create new places for athletics and activities such as playgrounds, running tracks, football fields, basketball courts and the like.
The Nike Reuse-A-Shoe shoe drive will run through April 20. PNC has a goal to collect 500 pairs of shoes. Bins are located throughout campus and shoes may be dropped off during regular school hours. The bin locations are:
Library-Student-Faculty Building - Dean of Students Office, Room 103 and Cafeteria
Technology Building – the north entrance' study lounge
Schwarz Hall – Human Resources Office, Room 25 and Bursar's Office, Room 127
PNC - Porter County, 600 Vale Park Road, Valparaiso - the foyer of both the Graduate and Undergraduate buildings.
Only athletic shoes of any brand are being collected. Please do not drop off damp or muddy shoes, no metal, cleats or dress shoes, sandals or flip-flops.
Further information may be obtained by contacting Kendra Gardin, PNC Wellness coordinator at kgardin@pnc.edu or 785-5200, ext. 5519.
