PNC MBA Students Celebrate Commencement
Westville – The Purdue University North Central MBA August 2010 graduates recently celebrated their commencement. As part of the event, the class honored the persons they selected to receive the Outstanding Professor Award and the Outstanding Student Leadership and Service Award.
The graduates presented the Outstanding Professor award to Dr. Thomas Brady, professor of Industrial Engineering, who teaches quantitative methods and operations management. As one of the students wrote in support of Brady, “The information Professor Brady taught was the most practical information I learned in the MBA program. He did an excellent job illustrating how to apply operations management to any industry. He made himself accessible to students for questions and offers his help in showing students how to apply operations concepts in their jobs even after they have left the MBA program. This shows that he is enthusiastic about the material he teaches and that his support of the field goes well beyond the classroom.”
The students also selected Jenny Orsburn, of Chesterton, for the Outstanding Student Leadership and Service Award.
One of her nominators remarked, “She was an important part of my MBA education. Jenny was willing to share her experiences and thoughts on numerous topics. Through her actions, Jenny proved to be a leader in the classroom and I'm sure will continue to positively affect her community or any cause she supports.”
