PNC Faculty Member Earns National Award
WESTVILLE Purdue University North Central faculty
member Dr. Linda Duttlinger recently earned the National Academic
Advising Association (NACADA) Outstanding Advising Certificate
of Merit in the faculty academic advising category.
NACADA promotes quality academic advising and professional
development of its 7,200 membership to best ensure that the
educational, intellectual and personal needs of students are
met. Members are faculty advisors, professional advisors,
administrators, counselors and others in academic and student
affairs.
The award recipients will be honored at an award reception
during the annual NACADA conference.
Duttlinger earned the Indiana Academic Advising Network (IAAN)
Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award for the 2002-2003 academic
year, the first year that IAAN presented this award. She started
her career as a PNC academic advisor and faculty member in
1985 and now serves as assistant to the vice chancellor for
academic advising, department chair for developmental studies,
secretary to the faculty senate and campus coordinator of
the Lilly Endowment Retention Initiatives and was presented
with the PNC Outstanding Teacher Award in 1987, 1992, 1996
and 2000. Duttlinger is president for the Indiana Association
for Developmental Education and is a charter member of that
organization. She earned her bachelors, masters
and doctorate degrees from Purdue University.
