PNC Student Psychology Honor Society Induction
Westville – The Purdue University North Central chapter of Psi Chi, the International Psychology Honor Society, recently held its largest induction ceremony to date, welcoming 14 new members.
The inductees include: Brooke Sterling, Valparaiso; Robert Stephenson, Hanna; Jessica Kuiphoff, La Porte; Amy Del Turco, Portage; Pamela Bailey, Michigan City; Casey Bryan, Portage; Ashley Germain, Michigan City; Nicole Chirillo, Valparaiso; Catherine Shields, Valparaiso; Keith Ross, La Porte; Michelle Schrader, Westville; Anna Boller, Michigan City; Camille Turner, Michigan City and Vanessa Caroll, Portage.
In addition to their academic achievements Dr. Cheryl W. DeLeón, PNC assistant professor of Psychology and Psi Chi Faculty Advisor, made special note of the service the chapter has provided to the community this year. The chapter raised money and participated in walks supporting Alzheimer's disease and Suicide Prevention. A Suicide Prevention walk held on April 14 at PNC was organized by Psi Chi Member Vanessa Carroll and raised more than $2,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
