PNC Faculty To be Part of Financial and Credit Crisis Forum
Westville – Purdue University North Central faculty members will be among the economic and financial faculty experts who will take part in a forum Friday, Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m. in Alumni Hall of the Purdue University Calumet Student Union & Library.
Anthony Sindone, PNC visiting assistant professor of Economics; Dr. Derek Bjonback, associate professor of Business and Dr. Alan Krabbenhoft, dean of the College of Business, will join faculty experts from six Northwest Indiana colleges and universities who will share their insights on the nation's current financial and credit crisis.
The forum is a collaboration of Purdue Calumet, Purdue North Central, Indiana University Northwest, Calumet College of St. Joseph, Ivy Tech State College and Valparaiso University.
The forum will feature two sessions. Faculty from the participating institutions will offer explanations, details and interpretations about the history of the current crisis; stipulations, pros and cons about the government's $700 billion bail-out plan; and the international and regional and local implications of the United States market crisis. Sindone will participate in this portion of the forum.
A panel of 12 experts, including Bjonback and Krabbenhoft, will respond to audience questions during the second session.
Admission is free, but due to limited seating individuals planning to attend should advance register by phoning (219) 989-2388.
