In the fall of 2011, the Purdue University North Central Faculty Senate approved the following policy regarding general education course categories and assessment:

• All courses listed in either the 30-Credit Core or Supplemental Core Categories must have on file a LEAP Designation Form.

• All courses listed in either the 30-Credit Core or Supplemental Core Categories are revalidated on a 4-year rotating schedule. At each revalidation, the instructor representative must provide data for review by the General Education Committee and Faculty Senate. Contact the Chair of the General Education Committee for more information.
